[The following message is from LAANE.]

Dear Supporters,

LAANE has led the way in creating better construction jobs in Los Angeles through the Construction Careers Program. Because of the program, construction jobs on public infrastructure projects are moving more local families into the middle class than ever before.

Now, thanks to our partnership with Green for All, a national organization working to build a green economy, the same programs LAANE has pioneered in LA are being considered by the U.S. Senate as part of the federal climate bill. The U.S. House of Representatives has already passed a version of the bill which contains the same program, known as the Green Construction Careers Demonstration Project.

We know that if the Senate passes the climate bill, thousands of Americans across the country will be able to get the training they need to become members of a new, green middle class. But our senators need to hear from us why this program is important for working families. That’s why we’re asking you to go to our website today and sign our petition to Senators Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer. Together, we can show our support for middle-class green jobs and a cleaner, healthier America for everyone.

On our website, you can also watch a special video message from Phaedra Ellis-Lamkins, CEO of Green for All, on why we should take action today.

Your signature will help tell our Senators to support strong legislation that invests in a clean-energy future and a new green economy that works for all.

Thanks,

Madeline Janis, Executive Director, LAANE
Flor Barajas-Tena, Director of the Construction Careers Project, LAANE
