Trumka to hotel workers: We stand with you

AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka addressed a boisterous rally of 500 hotel workers Thursday evening in front of the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel.

Hotel workers called on Hyatt to sign a fair contract as soon possible. If management didn’t hear the workers’ message, then onlookers and hotels guests most certainly did. Chants of “Rich and rude, we don’t like your attitude” echoed off the ritzy hotel in Century City. Guests stood from their balconies to watch. READ MORE >>

National Workers’ Rights Board Hearing on the Carwash Industry

This hearing is a mechanism for carwash workers and the Los Angeles community to highlight the experiences of workers on the job and establish a community voice on worker rights’ issues. The National Workers’ Rights Board is a project of Jobs with Justice that has a proven track record of shining the light on workplace abuses and creating opportunities to address them. This year’s breakfast celebrates the legacy of Dr. King’s dream by highlighting the reopening of Martin Luther King Jr. Hospital - a major victory for Los Angeles County hospital workers, the communities directly impacted by the loss of critical hospital services, and the working families of Los Angeles.
